I am the guest blogger once again this week - hopefully our patient will get her blog on sometime soon, but in the meantime, our visit to Dana Farber for a second opinion went well.
The doctor that we met with was happy with the course of treatment that the doctors in Atlanta had started Patti on, and she agreed that we should stay with it for the next three months, and at that point get re-scanned and see how the cancer is responding. If the drugs are working, they will probably recommend that we continue on with it, and if not we can switch to another course of drugs and or a clinical trial. So, we will stay with it and get scanned again probably after the holidays and see what happens. One of the major side effects of the chemo drug is that Patti is fatigued quite a bit, and sleeps a lot, so her napping has become world class.
Today we are all in Clinton for our niece Allison's wedding. Her husband Neil is from Dublin, and his whole family is here from Ireland, so it should be a great gathering of the clan. We are looking forward to seeing everyone and just enjoying the day!
Thanks for everything - will send pics from the wedding.
Kevin
